Dr. Karl Witte is an interim CFO, executive board member, and finance business partner with over 30 years of leadership experience at the intersection of finance, IT, and digital transformation. He takes on leadership roles in regulated financial institutions, public companies, and service organizations. In complex change situations, he combines strategic corporate management with a strong hands-on approach.
His focus is on the management and further development of finance- and IT-related organizations, digital business and management models, and ERP/SAP-based transformation projects. He has extensive experience in finance, accounting, controlling, treasury, liquidity management, reporting, risk management, compliance, governance, and outsourcing management. In this role, he translates technical, organizational, and regulatory requirements into robust processes, target states, and actionable solutions.
Dr. Witte has a particularly strong track record in restructuring, carve-out, separation, and transformation situations. This includes the complete wind-down of a non-performing portfolio of approximately €5 billion with outstanding financial results, advising on M&A transactions, and building complete banking and corporate structures from the ground up. His IT expertise encompasses ERP and SAP implementations, system integration, IT management, process digitization, data-driven management, and the use of modern AI applications in finance and management.
As an experienced bridge-builder, he connects management, functional departments, IT, regulatory bodies, politics, government, and the private sector. He structures complex projects, manages parallel workstreams, leads teams through change processes, and ensures pragmatic implementation. He makes targeted use of AI for automation, quality assurance, and the further development of business, organizational, and digital processes.
